What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay compensation for the money they should have paid had they not misrepresented their income or the income of a member of their family. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The Landlord's application with respect to compensation is granted. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $3,428.04 for rent from July 23, 2021 through October 15, 2021, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $3,614.04. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by January 21, 2022, they will start to owe simple interest calculated at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
