What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference and belief that the Tenants abandoned the unit. The application was filed after serving two valid N5 notices alleging non-payment of utilities and having a discarded couch outside the home.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 16, 2024. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,943.69 for unpaid utilities and $186 for the application filing fee, for a total of $2,129.69. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 18, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
