What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order to pay the lawful rent by July 15, 2024.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 10, 2024. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $10,270.59, which includes rent arrears up to July 30, 2024, and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $29.59 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting July 31, 2024 until the Tenant moves out.
