What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The tenant was not present at the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy will be terminated on March 10, 2023 unless the tenant pays $4,562.02 by February 28, 2023 or $6,600.30 by March 10, 2023 to void the order and continue the tenancy. If the tenant does not make the required payment, they must move out by March 10, 2023 and pay the landlord $494.76 plus daily compensation of $67.01 per day starting January 17, 2023.
