What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant wilfully or negligently damaging the rental unit. The Landlord alleged that the Tenant's excessive possessions and turning off dehumidifiers and fans prolonged the remediation process, resulting in additional costs for the Landlord.
The ruling
The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,269.61 for the additional expenses incurred due to the Tenant's actions. The Tenant is also ordered to maintain the rental unit in a state of ordinary cleanliness for a six-month period and cooperate with the Landlord's periodic inspections. If the Tenant fails to meet these conditions, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant.
