What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser's parents require possession of the rental unit for residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of February 28, 2022. The Tenant must move out by this date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for eviction enforcement starting March 1, 2022. The Board found that the Landlord acted in good faith and met the requirements for termination under section 49 of the Residential Tenancies Act.
