What happened
The Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlords gave a notice of termination in bad faith. The Landlords issued an N12 notice claiming that a purchaser, the Landlords' parents, required possession of the rental unit. The Tenant vacated the unit as a result of the notice.
The ruling
The Tenant's application is dismissed. The Landlords did not act in bad faith in issuing the N12 notice, and the Tenant is not entitled to compensation as the notice was served before the requirement for compensation was introduced.
