What happened

Landlords applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on May 14, 2022 and did not pay the full rent for the period from March 1, 2022 to May 14, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $2,177.19, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the full amount is not paid by December 3, 2022, the Tenant will start owing interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
