What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent, damage to the rental unit, and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served valid notices, and the Tenants did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenants must vacate the rental unit by February 22, 2022. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $35,000. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by February 27, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by February 22, 2022, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
