What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and the Landlord requiring the rental unit for his son's residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 20, 2022. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $9,228.44, which includes rent arrears, application filing fee, less the last month's rent deposit, interest on the deposit, and a rent abatement previously ordered. The Tenants must also pay daily compensation of $37.48 per day starting August 11, 2022 until they vacate the unit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by September 20, 2022, they will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
