What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlords gave a notice of termination in bad faith. The Landlords served the Tenant with an N12 Notice claiming their child intended to live in the rental unit, but the Tenant alleged the Landlords did not move anyone into the unit after she vacated.

The ruling

The Landlords are ordered to pay the Tenant $6,959.05, which includes $6,480 for part of the increased rent the Tenant incurred for 12 months after moving out, and $429.05 for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses.
