What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord or another tenant. The Landlord submitted photographic evidence showing the backyard of the rental unit was cluttered and the Tenants' dog was walking around without a leash in the residential complex.
The ruling
The Tenants shall ensure that their backyard remains clean and tidy for a period of one year following the date of this order. If the Tenants fail to comply, the Landlord may apply to the Board for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by December 31, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
