What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord or another tenant, and persistent late payment of rent.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective September 4, 2022, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $11,313.22, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from March 28, 2022 to September 4, 2022 and costs, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlords owe on the rent deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 3, 2023, they will start to owe 5% annual interest on the outstanding balance.
