What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. Tenant had vacated the rental unit on March 31, 2022, prior to the hearing date. Tenant did not attend the hearing despite proper service of notice.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $462.45, which includes rent arrears up to March 31, 2022, and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If not paid by November 5, 2022, interest will start accruing at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
