What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on August 8, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from June 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 8, 2022. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $26,186, which includes rent arrears up to July 31, 2022 and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 18, 2022, they will owe interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
