What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenant A.T attended the first hearing but not the second, while Tenant J.B did not attend either hearing. J.B attempted to terminate his tenancy early due to alleged domestic abuse, but his notice was deemed invalid. The Landlord's claim for rent arrears was contested by A.T, leading to a reconvened hearing which A.T then failed to attend.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless Tenants void the order by paying $6,170.51 by February 28, 2018, or $8,164.02 by March 9, 2018. Tenants must move out by March 9, 2018 if payment is not made. Tenant A.T is ordered to pay $450 in costs to the Landlord by March 15, 2018.
