What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet its maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards.

The ruling

The Landlord shall pay $100.00 to the Tenants as a rent abatement for the failure to maintain the walls, and $50.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Landlord does not pay the full amount by July 4, 2021, the Landlord will owe interest. If the Landlord does not pay by July 31, 2021, the Tenant may deduct the amount from rent.
