What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and because the Landlord, a purchaser or family member, requires the rental unit. The parties participated in mediation and requested an Order on Consent.
The ruling
The tenancy terminated on December 6, 2020. The Tenant owes the Landlord $3,500 in rent arrears, which the Tenant shall pay in two installments: $2,300 on June 16, 2021 and the remaining $1,200 in 12 equal monthly payments of $100 starting July 15, 2021. If the Tenant fails to make a payment, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
