What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 20, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,089.73 for compensation of use and occupation, plus $21.37 per day from February 23, 2023 until move-out, and $186.00 for application filing costs. If not vacated by March 20, 2023, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting March 21, 2023.
