What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was properly served with notice of the hearing but did not attend.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 23, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $2,070.95, which includes rent arrears and application costs, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay $20.77 per day for compensation starting August 13, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant pays $3,300.35 on or before August 23, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
