What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit, including the refrigerator door and bedroom door. The Landlord also claimed compensation for the cost of repairs.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 14, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by April 1, 2022. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,946.50 for the cost of repairing the damage and $186 for the application fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by April 1, 2022, they will owe interest starting April 2, 2022.
