What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022. Tenants must pay $2,784.36 to Landlords, which includes compensation for use of the unit and application filing fee. Additional compensation of $64.11 per day is due from March 1, 2022 until move-out. If full payment is not made by March 11, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually. Eviction may be enforced starting March 1, 2022 if the unit is not vacated.
