What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed, but moved out on October 31, 2020. The Tenant did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from September 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,050.81, which represents the outstanding arrears less the last month's rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the costs of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by May 3, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding. The $2,300.00 paid by the Tenant shall be paid out to the Landlord.
