What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed NSF cheque charges and related administration charges. However, the Tenant and the owners of the rental unit reached an agreement in September 2020 to resolve the rent arrears.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $190, which represents the amount outstanding for the application filing fee ($155) and the NSF charges ($35). If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 18, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2% annually on the balance outstanding.
