What happened

Landlords filed an L2 application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants based on a form N12 notice of termination because the Landlords in good faith require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of May 9, 2023. The Tenants shall vacate the unit on or before that date. If the unit is not vacated by May 10, 2023, the Landlords may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for eviction. The Tenants shall pay the Landlords $75.62 per day in compensation for the use of the unit from May 10, 2023 to the date the Tenants vacate the unit. There is no last month's rent on deposit. The Tenants agree to pay lawful monthly rent for the period of March 10, 2023 to May 9, 2023.
