What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenants did not meet the condition specified in the previous order to pay the lawful rent for December 2021 by December 1, 2021.

The ruling

The previous order EAL-92102-20 is cancelled. The tenancy is terminated, and the tenants must vacate the unit by January 25, 2022. The tenants must pay the landlord $1,801.55 in rent arrears, plus $28.50 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 1, 2022 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by January 25, 2022, the tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
