What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The parties reached an agreement during mediation.

The ruling

The parties agreed that the Tenant shall pay the Landlord $14,536, which includes rent arrears and costs. The Tenant shall pay $500 per month for 10 months starting June 1, 2023, and an additional $9,536 by April 1, 2024. The Tenant shall also pay the lawful rent each month starting June 1, 2023 until the amounts are paid in full. If the Tenant fails to make any payment, the Landlord may apply to the LTB to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant.
