What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per a previous order. The Tenants failed to meet the conditions specified in the previous order, including paying October 2021 rent and $157 towards arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 18, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $5,182.88 (less any payments made after the application was filed) for rent arrears up to December 7, 2021 and the costs related to the previous application. The Tenants must also pay $13.84 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting December 8, 2021 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by December 18, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
