What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date and compensation for damages to the unit.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay the Landlords $2,034.00, which represents the reasonable costs of repairing the damage to the rental unit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by September 4, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
