What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had not paid the total rent required from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective August 20, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 25, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $4,534.00 to the Landlord or the Board in trust by that date. The Tenant must pay $4,407.62 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $186.00 for the application filing cost, and $3.98 per day starting January 15, 2022, until they vacate the unit. If payment is not made, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 26, 2022.
