What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. Tenant was in arrears from February 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020 and had not made any payments since the application was filed.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 22, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlords $17,375.09, which includes rent arrears up to January 11, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $59.18 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting January 12, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant pays $20,425.00 on or before January 22, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
