What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant negligently causing undue water damage to the rental unit and other units in the residential complex.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,807.98 for the cost of repairing the damage and $186 for the application fee, for a total of $3,994, by April 30, 2022. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by the due date, the Landlord may apply to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant. The Tenant will also owe 2% annual interest on the outstanding balance starting May 1, 2022.
