What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord also claimed NSF cheque charges and related administration charges.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective September 28, 2021, the date the Tenant was evicted by the Court Enforcement Officer. The Tenant is ordered to pay $2,294.60 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the termination date, compensation up to the date the unit was vacated, and charges related to NSF cheques. The Tenant is also ordered to pay $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 9, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
