What happened
Tenants applied for orders determining that the Landlord harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with them, entered the rental unit illegally and substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex, and failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The Landlord illegally entered the rental unit on July 6, 2018 without proper notice, and the Tenants are entitled to a rent abatement of $200. However, the Tenants did not provide sufficient evidence to establish that the Landlord harassed them or failed to comply with maintenance obligations.
