What happened

Tenant applied to the Landlord and Tenant Board for an order determining that the Landlord substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenant or by a member of the Tenant's household, and failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.

The ruling

The Landlord shall compensate the Tenant $671.58 in satisfaction of the issues in the application. The Tenant shall deduct this $671.58 from their February 1, 2021 rent payment. The Landlord shall provide regular pest control maintenance and inspect and seal any areas permitting rodents to enter within 20 days of lockdown restrictions being lifted.
