What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. Landlord also filed a N12 notice to end the tenancy for personal use.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 31, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $15,780.07, which represents the rent arrears and compensation up to July 27, 2021, less a $800 rent reduction and $1,600 compensation. The Tenant must also pay $52.60 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting July 28, 2021 until the Tenant moves out, as well as the $201 application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 31, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest starting September 1, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by August 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
