What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlords have collected or retained money illegally. The rental units are mobile home lots in a mobile home park, and the Tenants own their own mobile homes.

The ruling

The mobile home park is exempt from the rent increase rules under Section 6(2)(c) of the Act. The rent increases were done in accordance with the Act's procedural requirements. The Tenants' remedy for excess rent is limited to one year from the date of their application.
