What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on November 3, 2021. The condition was to pay the lawful rent for November 2021 on or before November 1, 2021, which the Tenants failed to do.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 23, 2022. Tenants must vacate the rental unit by this date. If not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for eviction enforcement starting January 24, 2022. The Tenants have until January 22, 2022, to file a motion with the Board to set aside the order under s. 78(9) of the Act.
