What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and for undue damage to the rental unit. The Tenants had already vacated the unit prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tribunal ordered the Tenants to pay the Landlord $13,160 in rent arrears, $1,635 for the cost of repairing the damage to the rental unit, and $201 for the application filing fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by December 4, 2021, they will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
