What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant had been late in paying rent for 8 out of the 12 months leading up to the filing of the application.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by October 31, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the full amount owed is not paid by October 31, 2022, the Tenant will owe interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance starting November 1, 2022.
