What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest of the Landlord, and serious impairment of the safety of any person.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 8, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $789 in compensation for use of the unit from July 9, 2020 to August 8, 2020, and $186 for the application filing fee, for a total of $975 to be paid by May 11, 2021. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by the due date, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
