What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the rental unit was a superintendent's premises and the Tenant's employment as a superintendent had ended. The Tenant remained in the unit beyond the statutory one-week grace period following the termination of employment. The Landlord sought possession and compensation for the unauthorized occupation of the unit.

The ruling

The LTB ordered the termination of the tenancy effective April 29, 2025. The Tenant must vacate the unit by October 14, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $9,456.75, covering compensation for the use of the unit after employment ended and the filing fee. Additionally, the Tenant must pay $65.75 per day for occupation from September 25, 2025, until they move out.
