What happened
The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent arrears. This was the third application filed against the Tenant since 2019. Despite the Landlord attempting to discuss the arrears, the Tenant failed to establish a payment plan or pay the full ongoing rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective November 28, 2025, unless the Tenant pays $5,037.04 to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay and does not move out, the Landlord can enforce eviction through the Sheriff starting November 29, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to pay $2,084.73 plus daily compensation of $53.95 if they do not void the order and remain in the unit.
