What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to significant rent arrears. Tenant 1 appeared at the hearing and explained that financial hardship arose after her brother, a previous occupant, lost his job. She proposed a repayment plan supported by her mother and daughter and mentioned potential help from social services. The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 17, 2025. The Tenants are ordered to pay $6,453.87 if they vacate. To void the eviction and continue the tenancy, the Tenants must pay $13,817.25 by November 17, 2025. Relief from eviction was denied due to the lack of financial viability of the tenancy.
