What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to rent arrears. A previous order was issued, but the Tenant requested a review because she missed the original hearing due to illness. The Board granted the review, cancelled the previous order, and reheard the merits. It was found that while substantial arrears existed, the Tenant had made a significant payment of $11,750.00 recently and expected further funds from an annual bonus and housing benefits. The Adjudicator granted a postponement of the eviction to allow the Tenant an opportunity to pay the remaining balance and preserve the tenancy.
The ruling
The previous eviction order was cancelled upon review. A new order terminates the tenancy effective December 28, 2025, unless the Tenant voids it by paying $9,586.00 by October 31, 2025 (or specified higher amounts by later dates). If the Tenant does not void the order, she must move out by December 28, 2025, and pay the Landlord $5,262.64 plus daily compensation of $77.26.
