What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Landlord intends to demolish the rental unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022. The Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before February 28, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction. If the unit is not vacated by February 28, 2022, the Tenants shall pay the Landlord $19.46 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting March 1, 2022 until the Tenants move out.
