What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed administration charges related to NSF cheques.

The ruling

The Landlord's application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant is denied, subject to the condition that the Tenant pays the Landlord $1,200 in arrears and costs over 30 consecutive weeks starting January 11, 2021. The Tenant must also pay the December 2020 rent by December 21, 2020 and the lawful rent on or before the first day of each month from January 2021 to August 2021. If the Tenant fails to make any of these payments, the Landlord may apply to the Board to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant.
