What happened
The Tenant requested a review of an ex parte order that terminated the tenancy and authorized eviction. The Landlord had originally obtained the eviction order because the Tenant allegedly failed to meet conditions set out in a previous LTB order (LTB-L-018867-25). The Tenant argued that they were unable to participate in the proceedings and that there was a serious error in the order.
The ruling
The Tenant's request for a review of the eviction order issued on June 26, 2025, is denied. The original order remains in effect. However, the Board ordered a stay of the eviction until August 10, 2025, to allow the Tenant to file a motion to set aside the order and a request for an extension of time. If no such motion is successful, the eviction order becomes enforceable on August 11, 2025.
