What happened
The landlord applied for an order requiring the tenant to pay the rent that the tenant owes. The tenant vacated the rental unit on January 31, 2023 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from November 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023.
The ruling
The tenant shall pay the landlord $1,590.64, which includes rent arrears up to January 31, 2023 and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by April 23, 2023, the tenant will start to owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
